Summer so far...

sudden_serenityWith Lughnasadh at the weekend I though I'd pop on here and review the summer so far.
I spent Midsummer on the Suffolk Coast at Walberswick. It was a bit of a drech day but I made a special point of touching all the most beautiful oak trees to thank them for their shade and the oxygen they produce. It was gorgeous. We had lunch in our favourite pub with leaves fresh from the garden and good food, served beautifully in portions that are neither too big nor too small and I spent it with my feller, so that's a low-key, perfect celebration in my book.
Lughnasadh will be a little different - it is my mother in law's birthday. She can be a little difficult. She lives in our old home village in Sussex along with my parents. So we will stay with them. P is flexing her chef's credentials and making a birthday cake covered with Icing sunflowers and gerberas. Some of my partner's brothers and sisters will be there, so I will spend this celebration with family no matter how the rest of the weekend turns out. With cake!
Scotland was glorious! Weasels, puffins, red deer, seals, sky, water everywhere! Stunning. I want to go back.
